Karumba is 72 km north of Normanton, serviced by a bitumen road and is part of the Gulf Savannah and at the end of the Matilda Highway.
A prawning fleet operates from Karumba, which is situated at the mouth of the Norman River, on the shores of Gulf of Carpentaria.
Karumba has a long history with flying boats and amphibious aircraft using it as a refueling and repair stop during WWII.

  • Turn right at the "town Centre" sign onto Walker St.
  • Turn left onto Yappar St
  • Find us on the corner of Yappar St and Massey Dr
Across the street from our caravan park are the main street shops of Karumba.
Facilities include:- Butchers, Chemist, Supermarket, Cafe and further down the road are the Post Office, Westpac Bank agency and public phone booths.
